At the sound of the alarm just before 2 am I wonder if it was worth it to go to bed at all. Imagining the trip that awaits us, it probably was not such a bad idea. Me and my colleagues are on our way to Berlin, Germany, where the E-commerce Berlin Expo takes place.
Not only Mergado, but all Profitak teams are keen to learn and are interested in moving e-commerce forward. That's why we went to visit the Berlin e-commerce expo, have a look at the variety of exhibitors, choose from a rich selection of lectures and draw inspiration for further work.
The adventure started at night. Connections to Vienna did not fit our expectations, so we had a fairly good chance to get some sleep at the airport before our flight. The flight to Berlin was fast and hassle-free. After arriving, we found our accommodation, refreshed a bit and set off to take in the atmosphere of this city.
We visited several landmarks such as the Eastside Gallery, the Molecule Man statue, the Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust Memorial, and the Berlin Wall Memorial. We could not miss tasting local gastronomy such as kebab and currywurst. After the first day full of sightseeing, we were glad to fall asleep to get ready for the next day. Our goal was the E-commerce Berlin Expo.
The next day was the E-commerce Expo
The Berlin fair was full of stalls of a wide variety of subjects. We found companies that deal with product photos, online shop solutions, and logistics. For example, the Idealo search engine had a pretty nice exhibition stand.
Throughout the day, lectures by e-commerce experts took place on four stages. We visited several of them to get a taste of the German e-commerce. Also, a meeting with a ShopAlike representative was successful.
The Berlin exhibition was inspiring. We will make sure to implement the newly acquired knowledge into our work and we are looking forward to other fairs that we will be visiting this year.
